After the R5 in 2022, another cult model from Losange celebrates its birthday in 2023. This is, of course, the Renault Twingo celebrating its 30th anniversary. Thus, the small chip of the French manufacturer presents a retrospective during the 47th edition of the Retromobile show, which will be held from February 1 to 5, 2023. Autonews was able to visit this exhibition in advance.
Installed at The Originals Renault Garage stand in Hall 1 of the Paris Expo in Porte de Versailles, Paris, this Twingo retrospective features several models of the city car. One of the first versions, released in 1993, attracts attention with the famous black plastic rear bumper.

We also discover the 1995 Renault Twingo Lecoq model at this exhibition. More luxurious and even luxurious, this special series features a two-tone black and yellow color scheme clearly inspired by the old Bugatti. The city car sits on BBS wheels, while the passenger compartment gets leather, Alcantara and wood trim. Only fifty copies of this edition were released.

The Renault stand at the Rétromobile 2023 exhibition allows you to discover the Twingo Coupe from 1995. Already unveiled in 2013 for the city car’s 20th anniversary, this prototype stands out with its sporty blue and white livery sponsored by Elf. The interior is decked out and under the hood is a 1.6 with 135 hp or a 2.0 with 150 hp on certain versions.

The first Twingo, which abandoned many special series during its career, is especially famous for the Benetton version. This edition stands out with its multicolored checkered seats and Benetton logos. It also has power adjustable mirrors.
The first Twingo is finally electric

In addition to the 2004 model, the Renault stand also has an electric version of the Twingo. This car gets the retrofit kit that the French manufacturer is about to launch. This new electric version of the Twingo – not to be confused with the convertible offered by Lormauto – was seen in public for the first time at the Retromobile show.

What models are on display?
Renault is using the 2023 edition of the Rétromobile show to pay tribute to the Twingo on the occasion of this model’s thirtieth anniversary. Alongside the Benetton version of the city car, the brand’s stand at the Diamond also features its rare Lecoq edition and Coupe prototype. Like the 2004 model, the first series from 1993 or even an electric version equipped with a boost kit are on display.
What are the dates and times for the 2023 release?
The 47th edition of the Rétromobile show takes place from 1 to 5 February 2023 in Paris at the Paris Expo exhibition center at the Porte de Versailles. Dedicated to collector vehicles, this event opens its doors from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm every day except Wednesday, February 1st and Friday, February 3rd.
How much is the ticket?
Entrance tickets to the Rétromobile 2023 show are priced at €21 online during the show or €24 at the box office. Admission to the show is free for children under 12 years old.
