A series of material accidents this Monday morning

On Monday, January 30, several property accidents occurred in Orleans.

Around 7:45 a.m., a north-south heavy truck and a car collided at Roger-Secretain Avenue at RD2020 in Orleans. Just when he was about to go back into the right lane, the heavy vehicle would pass through the center reservation and hit the stationary vehicle in the opposite lane. No one was injured as a result of the accident.

Around 8:50 a.m., a four-car pile-up on Boulevard Jean-Jaurès in Orléans towards Olivet caused significant slowdowns in the sector. The driver was not injured.

Shortly before 13:00, two cars collided on Alexander-Martin Boulevard. While the first one was moving on the boulevard, it hit the second boulevard coming from Halmagrand Square. The municipal police intervened to regulate the traffic. Again, no one was injured as a result of the accident.

The man was injured with multiple stab wounds

The anti-crime team responded to a 46-year-old man with multiple stab wounds at the Carrefour market in Saint-Jean-de-Braye on Friday, January 27 at around 5:30 p.m. The victim, who was severely cut in the tibia and abdomen, explained that he had just argued with a woman “over an idle argument.” He punched her several times, then stabbed her and immediately ran away.

A physical description provided by the victim, along with video surveillance, allowed police to track down a 40-year-old woman who was “well known to our services for acts of violence”.

He was arrested a short time later at his home in Saint-Jean-de-Braye and taken into police custody. He was due in court on January 30 for sentencing in the context of an immediate appearance.

Under control, drunk, driving a Porsche Cayenne

Loiret, 43, who was driving a Porsche Cayenne in Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle on Sunday, January 29, had a blood alcohol level of 1.88 grams. Shortly before 7:00 a.m., officers leaving the Orleans Central police station saw a car speeding past the 50 km/h posted speed limit. They then followed the Porsche to Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle and arrested its driver.

After inspection, the car was impounded. The driver of the car will be arraigned in the coming months as part of a preliminary guilty plea.

Violence in front of his two-year-old daughter

On January 27, a 43-year-old man suspected of committing domestic violence was arrested in Saran. On the same day, his 37-year-old wife, who was three months pregnant, filed a complaint about an episode of violence that occurred during the day. The victim also reported another episode of abuse in April 2022.

The violence will be partially committed in front of the couple’s two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

After the period of detention in police custody, his wife was brought before the judicial authorities on Sunday, January 29, and they may decide to start the trial.
