Samsung’s new Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 leaked ahead of January 18 announcement

Although 2023 has just begun, Samsung is already entering the new year strong with various TV, monitor and smartphone announcements. Last week at CES 2023, the company unveiled the new Galaxy A14 5G, and now it’s set to launch another Galaxy A series smartphone on January 18.

Samsung’s Galaxy A series is perfect for people who don’t want to pay a thousand dollars (or more) for a smartphone, and the next mid-range model could arrive as soon as next week. In effect, Samsung confirmed this week that its next Galaxy A series smartphone will be launched in India on January 18. Without revealing the name of the smartphone, the South Korean giant released a number of specifications that keep us guessing about the device.

I’ve been talking about some Galaxy A series smartphones for a few months now, and now it can be officially announced that One of the smartphones that Samsung will present on January 18 is the Galaxy A54. Most of the features confirmed by Samsung on the event page were leaked months ago along with renders of the phone.

Also, Evan Blass published Photos of the two smartphones that Samsung will introduce next week: Galaxy A54 5G (left) and Galaxy A34 5G (right). According to Samsung, the Galaxy A54 will be available in India in several colors including Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Chrome, Awesome Burgundy and Awesome Green.

As for the rest of the specs, we know that the Galaxy A54 5G features a large 6.6-inch full HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 5,000mAh battery is expected to last around 2 days, according to Samsung’s claims. You will be able to manage the battery with AI to serve you longer, but you will have to make a few compromises.

Several models

One thing that remains a mystery is the chipset inside the smartphone. Although Samsung mentions that the Galaxy A54 5G will be equipped with a “super-fast 5G processor”, it does not say which one. We also know that the smartphone will have a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In fact, one might think soDepending on the amount of RAM, there will be several versions of the Galaxy A54 5G. Samsung even mentions that it will definitely launch an 8 GB RAM model. In addition, the Galaxy A54 camera will benefit from the “No Shake Cam” function, which will allow users to shoot blur-free videos on the go.

A rather disappointing Galaxy A33 5G successor

Moving on to the other smartphone that is supposed to be launched in India on January 18, the Galaxy A34 5G is a bit of a disappointment. The latest news claims thatthere are very few changes from its predecessor Galaxy A33 5G.

The Galaxy A34 5G is rumored to sport a slightly larger 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, as opposed to the Galaxy A33’s 6.4-inch screen. Moreover, instead of four cameras like the Galaxy A33 5G, its successor is equipped with a triple camera (48 megapixel + 8 megapixel + 5 megapixel) and a 13 megapixel front camera.

Other announced specs include an Exynos 1280 processor, a massive 5,000mAh battery, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 6/8GB of RAM, and 128/256GB of storage. Both the smartphones will ship with Android 13 with OneUI 5 and will initially be available only in India.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet, but they should cost roughly the same as their predecessors. However, we expect the Galaxy A54 5G to be priced around ₹33,000 ($380) in India, while the Galaxy A34 5G is expected to be priced at ₹25,000 ($285).

While these will launch in India this month, we expect them to be rolled out globally.
