Bulon’s kittiwakes

When the planets align, so do the birds. At the end of May, members of the Northern Group of Ornithologists and Naturalists (GON) conducted a census of kittiwakes at the Boulogne ferry terminal. A golden opportunity for Sébastien Jarry to immortalize this moment. PHOTO by Sebastien JARRY

A migrant boat off the coast of Boulogne

On March 15, our photographer Johan Ben Azzouz took this picture early in the morning. A migrant boat drifted off the coast of Boulonnais, then a huge MSC cargo ship passed through the strait. Powerful and moving image. PHOTO by Johan BEN AZZOUZ

Firefighter training at Château d’Hardelot

In June, about forty firefighters from the Pas-de-Calais held an impressive exercise at the Château d'Hardelot in Condette. The intervention was carried out as part of a plan to protect cultural assets. A snapshot taken by our photographer Sébastien Jarry allows us to understand the importance of the device. Mussel harvesting at Le Portel

This summer, shore fishermen were able to take advantage of the low tide to harvest mussels. Passing the portel, Johan Ben Azzouz snapped his lens to take in the very popular Fort de l'Heurt at low tide. PHOTO by Johan BEN AZZOUZ

The draft horse of the Route du Poisson

With the return of the Route du Poisson in August, horses reignited passions. While passing the house of the Boulonnais horse in Samer, Sébastien Jarry had an amusing encounter. Throw a grasshopper into his box every time our photographer approaches him. Shyness that allowed me to make this great shot. PHOTO by Sebastien JARRY

Fog over Fort d’Ambleteuse

In January, Ambleteuse Castle was surrounded by a blanket of fog. Johan Ben Azzouz's lens managed to capture the contrast between the coolness of the mist and the heat of the sun on the English cliffs in the background. PHOTO by Johan BEN AZZOUZ

The breath of storm Eunice…

On February 18, Hurricane Eunice wreaked havoc in France and Boulogne. Gusty winds were recorded at over 170 km/h. To demonstrate this power, our colleague presented a wind test in Le Portel. With our photographer Sébastien Jarry. PHOTO by Sebastien JARRY

… and its power

With such a beautiful spectacle, we almost forgot that storm Eunice was devastating. Our photographer Johan Ben Azzouz captured this shot at just the right time as the wind and flood hit the Carnot Dam and its lighthouse in full force. PHOTO by Johan BEN AZZOUZ

Wimille column

For some, Napoleon, at the head of the column of the Grand Wimille Army, turned his sights on England. For others, he turns away from it. Anyway, on the day our photographer Sébastien Jarry took this shot, he certainly enjoyed a great show. PHOTO by Sebastien JARRY

A patrol ship of the French Navy

On July 7, the French Navy Navy patrol boat Le Flamant was spotted off the coast of Wimereux. The crew members were able to witness a magnificent sunset while following the migrants' departure. Blessed bread for our photographer Johan Ben Azzouz who rushed to capture this moment. PHOTO by Johan BEN AZZOUZ
