New movies and series not to be missed in January 2023
A bit of a timid start on their platforms until 2023 flow, though there’s always something to eat (and plenty of content released in 2022 to catch up on). On our side, we will not miss the 2nd season of the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Bunch about Disney+ and the final season of the series Hunters about Amazon Prime Video. movie side, netflix to our choice with a thriller Pale Blue Eye and an interesting science fiction film Jung_E. Finally, we’ll watch a new French series for a few laughs In place With Jean-Pascal Zadi and Benoit Poelvoorde netflix.

Star Wars: The Bad Gang – Season 2 (animated series)

Star Wars: The Bad Bunch returns for a second season and should kick off a rich year for the Star Wars universe on Disney+. 16 new episodes of the animated series featuring the elite squadron in the program Clone Force 99, nicknamed “Bad Batch”. A few months have passed since the events of the first season, and the group of mercenaries continues their mission and is still fighting for survival in the face of an increasingly oppressive new Empire.
Pale Blue Eye (film)

After a limited theatrical release in the US and other territories in 2022, Pale Blue Eye coming exclusively to Netflix. Set in 1830, this period film follows Inspector Augustus Landor’s (Christian Bale) investigation into a series of murders at West Point Military Academy. He will be helped by a young cadet, future writer Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling). Based on Louis Bayard’s novel of the same name, the cast includes Gillian Anderson, Robert Duvall and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Hunters – final season (TV series)
Platform: Amazon Prime Video
Release date: January 13, 2023 (8 episodes / 50-90 minutes)
Serial after three years of waiting Amazon-Original Hunters returns for the second and final season to wrap up the plot. Recall that the series takes place 32 years after the end of World War II in the United States, where a group of Nazi hunters, led by an Auschwitz survivor, follows members of a secret society carrying out a plan to recreate the State. Nazi christened the Fourth Reich. This is the last season Hunters is still produced by Jordan Peele and we find Al Pacino in the title role.
Jung_E (movie)

Film director Last train to Busan (2016) returns with a sci-fi thriller Jung_E, a Netflix exclusive. In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by civil war and brutal climate change, the few survivors hide in shelters. A researcher at an institute that develops brain cloning and artificial intelligence technologies is leading the effort to end this civil war. For this, he will clone the brain of the heroic soldier, his own mother, and train him to be the perfect warrior.
In Place – 1 season (TV series)

Jean-Pascal Zadi, actor / director / screenwriter for the film Caesar just black (2020), is coming to Netflix in a new original series In place. We find him in the role of Stéphane Blé, MJC’s neighborhood teacher, despite the fact that he will join the race for the presidential election. He will soon climb the polls to become a threat to the main candidate for the Elysee, played by Benoît Poelvoorde. In the cast of this political-comedy series we also find Eric Judor and Marina Fois.
