Must-see shows and musicals to entertain yourself this Christmas
The writing Pathfinder has prepared a selection of shows and musicals not to be missed this winter. With Christmas just around the corner, they’re also a great gift idea for loved ones or yourself.
1 starmania
starmania, the popularly anticipated rock opera imagined by Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger, will be at La Seine Musicale on Île Seguin until January 29, 2023. It will then go on tour throughout France. Adapted by Thomas Jolly, the musical tells the story of a world where Western countries have united into a single nation. In the capital of this new state, there is an insecurity bred by the Black Stars, a fearsome group. The situation irreparably feeds the presidential campaign of billionaire and ex-soldier Zero Janvier, who advocates a safe, racist and liberal model of society that ignores ecology.

2 Pink soldier
In 2023 Pink soldier will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary. On this occasion, the cult show will stop at the Grand Rex before touring the whole of France. A musical fairy tale written by Louis Chedid, “Intended for children and others”, tells the story of Yusif, a little boy who misses the world of adults. Determined to escape, she takes refuge in a department store to live with the toys that fill the shelves. They come alive at night. A soldier dressed in pink then approaches this surprise guest and explains why no one seems to want him.

3 al Capone
Jean-Félix Lalanne’s musical show is about to depict the life of Al Capone, the notorious bootlegger in the 1920s in the United States during prohibition. Tenor Roberto Alagna will play the title role, Bruno Pelletier will play Eliot Ness, the treasury agent and nemesis of the American gangster, and Anggun will lend his features and voice to Lily. On the stage, pop, jazz and opera music will follow each other according to the rhythm of unexpected events, competition and passions that bring to life each character.

4 Molière, City Opera
After rock, opera combines with another genre to become a new original creation: Molière, City Opera. Bold, musical will immerse the audience in 1642. Jean-Baptiste Pockelen, who was 20 years old at that time, was already imagining his plays on the boards of theaters. On stage, singers, rappers, slammers, musicians and dancers will give body and voice to make this dream come true. The casting director is Bruno Berberes the ten commandmentsfrom The Sun King or even 1789: Bastille lovers.

5 West Side Story
From October 2023, the Théâtre du Châtelet will present the play West Side Story, directed by Lonny Price for the first time. Created in 1957, the cult musical and winner of several Tony Awards presents itself as a contemporary story. Romeo and Juliet. In New York, the Jets and Sharks are waging a merciless war. But Tony, the former leader of the first group, falls under the spell of Maria, the sister of the leader of the other party. Both do not hesitate to defy the ban by holding meetings on the emergency stairs.

For forty years of its release flash dance, Philippe Hersen, who already adapted the film at the Théâtre du Gymnase in 2014, repeats his experience at the Casino de Paris. 7 cabaret
If Lido has closed its doors permanently, the establishment is reborn from its ashes, becoming Lido 2 Paris.
